President, Chris Taylor

Chris Taylor has worked in the area of addiction treatment since 1991. An active member of the Association of Addiction Professionals of New York (AAPNY) for several years, he holds a NYS Credential in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC), a NYS License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), and a National Master’s Level Certification in Addictions Counseling (MAC).  Chris is currently serving on the State Board as the President-Elect. He is employed as the Executive Director of the Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services of Livingston County, Inc., a non-profit substance abuse prevention and outpatient treatment agency with offices in Geneseo, Dansville, and Elmira, N.Y.

Currently the vice president for clinical services at Loyola Recovery foundation. I have been in the field of addictions for the past thirty some odd years. Started as a counselor and work my way up. I have been the supervisor and director for inpatient and outpatient faculties. 

Over the past thirty years I have been a member of the AAPNY organization first as a state rep and two terms as the president. 



Donna Mae Depola, President Elect

donna_mae[1]Donna Mae DePola has been working in the field of addiction for over 21 years.  Early in her career Donna worked for The New York City Board of Education as a Substance Abuse Prevention Intervention Specialist (SAPIS), focusing primarily on 4th and 5th grade children.  She later counseled both groups and individuals for Ridge Associates, an out-patient clinic located in Brooklyn, New York.  She served for 14 years as a Regional Director for Liberty Behavioral Management Group, Inc., whose facilities include Arms Acres, Conifer Park and the Holliswood Hospital.  Ms. DePola founded the Resource CASAC Group Inc. in 1994 as a response to her own experience in CAC/CSAC classes.   Ms. DePola is currently a board member of the Association of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Professionals of Greater New York (AASAP) and a member of the NYS OASAS CPP Board; she also serves as a core member of Project Connect, a NYC Probation/NYS Office of Mental Health-funded project to cross-train systems on Mental Health and Substance Abuse.  She is a member of Community Board 7, which covers Windsor Terrace/Sunset Park in Brooklyn.

Treasurer, George Onni

Senior Counselor at St Joseph’s Outpatient Clinic, Elizabethtown NY for the past seven years and Consultant to AVE (Coalition for Alcohol Free Estonia) and acting as their US representative.  George is also an Adjunct Faculty, Federal Prison, Ray Brook NY , Alcoholism Program.  He has been Chairman of Public Policy, AAPNY for the past three years, a Member of OASAS Talent Management Committee and Career Ladder sub- committee and a Member of AAPNY Executive Board as interim Treasurer.  Mr. Onni holds a BA ,Rutgers University (math and physics) and an MA, State University of NY (social policy/substance abuse).


Secretary, Deirdre Forbes, LMSW, CASAC

Deirdre Drohan Forbes, LMSW, CASAC, is a front line, direct care, case manager in an outpatient day rehab who knows the daily challenges of working with mandated individuals and keeping up with the myriad of paperwork and reporting that has become central to the addiction field. Deirdre became involved in the recovery advocacy movement about the same time she returned to school to become a counselor.  She’s  the founding chair of Friends and Voices of Recovery/Westchester; a founding member of Friends of Recovery New York State (FOR-NY); a former trustee of NCADD/Westchester, and a “family member” of the State Advisory Committee on Co-occurring Disorders.
